Wartime medical ward at Great Dixter, Northiam, East Sussex, WWI, 1915. Solar with wooden roof beams and mullioned window. Great Dixter was turned into a home for convalescent soldiers in the 1st World War, as shown by the Red Cross blankets. At the time it was the home of Nathaniel Lloyd, who had it converted from a medieval house by Sir Edwin Lutyens.
