Gas Works, Windsor Industrial Estate, Birmingham, West Midlands, 1999. A gas holder at the Gas Works. This riveted iron trellis-work gas holder was designed to store gas prior to delivery into the mains. As the demand for gas escalated in the second half of the nineteenth century, many such gas holders were constructed.
