Exterior view of an oast house at Hope Farm, Fairfield, Kent, 1956. The circular construction and conical tiled roof of this oast house are clearly visible. A plough and harrow lie in the foreground, with oil drums on the left. Oast houses are primarily associated with Kent and Sussex and were used to dry hops which are required in the brewing process.
