The library at Kenwood House, Hampstead, London, 1990. Richly decorated room with gilt-topped columns and arched alcoves with mirrors. The frieze along the top of the walls contains a lion motif with stylised floral designs. The library at Kenwood House is one of the finest of Robert Adam's rooms in existence and was intended not merely as a library, but as 'a room for receiving company'. The painted panels in the classical allegorical style on the ceiling are by Antonio Zucchi.
