Kenwood House, Hampstead, London, 1995. The south front at Kenwood House at the top of Hampstead Heath, seen across the park against a stormy sky. Robert Adam's design, although classical in approach, does not follow the orthodox orders. The slim pilasters are of an order of Adam's own invention, freely spaced and giving a lively pattern to the facade.
