The village of Hampton on the River Thames, London, c1945-c1965. Rural scene with willows reflected in the Thames, a village church, and a Classical temple. The temple was built in about 1758 by David Garrick, the actor, and dedicated to Shakespeare. The village of Hampton lies about a mile west of Hampton Court Palace.
