Detail of a window, St Augustine's Abbey, Canterbury, Kent, 1996. Arched window high in the north wall of the nave of the abbey church. A monastery was founded on this site just outside Canterbury in 598 by St Augustine. The Normans replaced the Saxon monastic buildings.
