World War I guardroom, Pendennis Castle, Falmouth, Cornwall, 1998. Here the guardroom is reconstructed as it might have looked during World War I. There are several maps on the wall. Military coats and helmets are hanging up on the right. Pendennis Castle was begun in 1540 as part of Henry VIII's defence of the south coast. It continued to serve as a military base until World War II.
