Detail of the ceiling of the Heaven Room, Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire, 2000. In this detail a cherub holds sheet music while others play instruments. The ceiling, painted in 1619, shows Christ's ascension to heaven surrounded by angels. The Heaven Room in the 'Little Castle' is one of two small closets opening off the master bedchamber. Bolsover Castle was rebuilt in the 17th century.
