Barrack room in the keep at Calshot Castle, Hampshire, 1995. This barrack room has been reconstructed as it might have been in the 19th century, complete with folding beds. The keep provided accommodation for the gunners. Calshot Castle was built in 1539-40 as an artillery fort to guard the entrance to Southampton Water, and continued as a military building until World War II.
