The Trundle, St Roche's Hill, West Sussex, 2000. The Trundle preserves evidence of two periods of very different use. Within the rampart of the later Iron Age hillfort are the fainter remains of a Neolithic causewayed enclosure. Causewayed enclosures date to perhaps 3700-3300 BC, though their function is unclear: they seem not to have been settlements.
