Bisham Abbey, Bisham, Berkshire, c1860-c1887. Founded in the 13th century as a Preceptory of the Knights Templar, it was later a Benedictine abbey. The appearance of the house owes much to Sir Philip Hoby (died 1558) who gained the estate after the Dissolution.
