St Martin-in-the-Fields, The National Gallery, Trafalgar Square and The Strand, Westminster, London, 2002. The Strand, at about 1km long, links the administrative heart of London, the City of Westminster, to the financial centre of the capital in the City of London. It was originally a riverside bridle path, and contained several large mansions from at least the 12th century. In the foreground here is Trafalgar Square, with the National Gallery to the left. Nearby is the church of St Martin-in-the-Fields, and past this the triangle of buildings that includes Coutts' Bank
