Skating on the Cherwell near Oxford, Oxfordshire, 1895. People skating on the Cherwell during the extreme winter of 1894/5, the year of the 'twelve week frost' when from the 9th to the 17th of February the whole of the Thames at Oxford was blocked by 6 feet thick ice-floes.
