Cutaway Section through Grime's Graves, Neolithic Flint Mine, Norfolk, 1987. This reconstruction of what is probably the most widely explored and best known flint mine site in Britain is based on archaeological evidence from the excavations of 1971. Flint nodules are wrapped in animal skins and carried to the surface, with different people performing separate tasks.
