Broadstairs Harbour, Kent, 1890-1910. This view shows a strange mixture of the commercial and recreational aspects of the Kent town. Several fishing vessels are moored in the harbour ready to set sail, while two men appear to be loading carts with sand. In the background are bathing machines from which bathers could emerge straight into the seawater.
