Canterbury Cathedral, Canterbury, Kent, 1890-1910. A view across the rooftops towards Canterbury Cathedral, which dates from 1070 with many subsequent alterations. It was here that Thomas a Beckett, Archbishop of Canterbury, was murdered in 1170. Today the Cathedral is still the seat of the the Archbishop of Canterbury, first primate of England.
