The Barbican, Sandwich, Kent, 1890-1910. The river at Sandwich looking towards the north side of the Barbican and the Bridge, with a horse-drawn vehicle on the opposite bank. The Barbican contains 16th-century rounded chequered bastions and was adapted into a tollhouse in the 20th century.
