Barton Aqueduct over the Manchester Ship Canal, Greater Manchester, 1945. Designed by Sir Edward Leader Williams, the Barton Aqueduct is a swing bridge that carries the Bridgewater Canal over the Manchester Ship Canal. It became operational in 1893.
