Storage loft, Maltings Depository, Lower Bristol Road, Bath, 1999. This malthouse was built around 1834, four years after the 'Beer Act' was passed. This allowed a greater amount of free trade in the sale of beer, and consequently an increase in the number of breweries, beer houses and maltings.
