Ringers tobacco factory, Redcliffe Street, Bristol, 2000. Bristol grew wealthy from its links to the New World, leading it to become an important centre for many commodities from the Americas - most notably slaves and (the associated products of) sugar and tobacco. The Bristol Industrial Museum contains an important collection of tobacco-working artefacts.
