Hampton's Munitions Works, Lambeth, London, 1914-1918. During World War I many civilian factories were adapted to making munitions and equipment for the war effort. These women are working in a factory that normally made furniture, but here they are attaching webbing to wooden staves, possibly to be used as duckboards in the trenches.
