Stonehenge, Amesbury, Wiltshire. A view of the sarsen stone circle at Stonehenge. The sarsen circle dates to circa 1500 BC and was the final phase of a site which had been developing since circa 3000 BC. Some of the fallen stones seen here lying flat have been subsequently re-erected.
