Hammersmith Bridge, Hammersmith, London, c1887-1899. General view looking along the bridge from one end with steam engine at the side of the road. This bridge, designed by Sir Joseph Bazalgette and built between 1883 and 1887, replaced an earlier suspension bridge on the site designed by William Tierney Clark but reused some of the original parts.
