Green glazed pottery jar impressed with cloth pattern, Warring States period, China, c4th century BC. A small, thinly potted grey-bodied jar of globular shape and wide mouth. The sides of the jar have attached a pair of long S-shaped strap handles which extend up to the level of the mouth; each is topped with horizontal S-shaped appliques. The body is decorated with an imprint of textile fabric. The top part is covered with dark blackish green glaze, which may be just kiln gloss.
