Green lead glazed ladle with dragon's head handle, Eastern Han dynasty, China, 1st-2nd century. A pottery ladle of deep oval tear-shape with handle ending in a dragon's head, its mouth partly open. The bottom of the ladle has a complex pattern of swirling lines in low relief, covered all over with a thick, dark green lead glaze with three spur marks showing the red clay body.
