White glazed ewer with protruding petals, Five Dynasties period, China, 10th century. A thinly potted ewer with a short circular spout, shallow foot and globular body. The lower half of the body is formed as a large open flower with protruding petals decorated with incised stamen-like patterns. The mouth rim is decorated with three concentric incised lines. The whole piece is covered with a greenish white glaze.
