Black glazed jar, Cizhou-type, Northern Song dynasty, China, 11th century. This type of large Guan jar comes from North China and would have been called a Henan Temmoku piece in the past but should more correctly be described as Northern blackware, Cizhou-type. Whether it came from kilns in Henan is still not proven though that is probable.
