Shufu porcelain bowl with geese and 'fu' and 'lu' characters, Yuan dynasty, China, first half of 14th century. A shallow circular bowl with small foot, decorated on the interior with a moulded design of two wild geese in flight among clouds. The border consists of a band of classic scroll near the rim. The characters 'fu' and 'lu' appear amid the clouds. The exterior is incised at the rim with a wave pattern and an incised four line lotus petal border pattern round the base. The piece is covered with an opaque Shufu glaze of bluish tint.
