Doucai dish decorated with iron red enamel and gilding, Kangxi period, Qing dynasty, China, 1662-1722. A large shallow bowl, the interior of which is edged with doucai hatched diaper decoration. The centre has a prunus tree in rouge-de-fer and aubergine overglaze enamels enriched by gilding, the tree trunk continuing on to the reverse. The foot rim has a concave channel forming a double foot rim and the base has a boldly written 6 character Kangxi mark in underglaze blue within a double circle.
