Ribbed celadon glazed vase, Qing dynasty, China, 1st half of 18th century. A ribbed celadon-glazed vase of tapered form, the steeply rounded sides sloping to a short neck above and tapering to a high-waisted foot below. The foot and neck are very slightly splayed and the sides have sixteen ribs. The glaze pooling darker in the recessed areas and thinning over the ridges; the thickly potted foot and flat, recessed base are unglazed, the interior and lip glazed in white.
