Bronze spearhead with rhombus and recessed lattice diaper pattern, Eastern Zhou dynasty, China, 5th century BC. Bronze spearhead from the State of Yue, with curved cutting edges. Down the centre is a ridge with two shallow depressions on either side. There are a pair of sunken decorative units near the shaft opening. This type of weapon is associated with the eastern States of Wu and Yue and is an example of the kind of prestige pieces that circulated between rulers of different states.
