Bronze applique with coiled serpent design, Eastern Zhou dynasty, China, 5th century BC. A circular bronze applique in the shape of two concentric circles, the outer circle is decorated with twisted rope design. The space in between the two circles is decorated with four interlaced coiled serpents biting the outer rim.
