Parcel gilt bronze fitting with fabulous animals design, Western Han dynasty, China, 2nd century BC. A parcel-gilt bronze petal-shaped fitting decorated with fabulous animals and birds. The six holes on the fitting are probably meant for fastening the fitting onto textile or leather. Probably used as a horse fitting by one of the nomadic tribes active in the steppes.
