Yunnan bronze lamp in the shape of a dragon, Western Han dynasty, China, 2nd-1st century BC. A circular Yunnan bronze lamp in the shape of a dragon. The shallow lamp tray with three prickets forms part of the body of the dragon and is supported by three kneeling human figures wearing loin-cloths, one with clasped hands, one playing a flute and the third supporting two acrobats. The twin-horned dragon's head and plaited neck form the handle. The dragon's tail is in the form of a flap on which stands a bird with a flat tail and crested head turned to the rear.
