Gilt bronze water container with a boy holding the rim, Ming dynasty, China, c early 16th century. A small but heavy gilt bronze water container in the form of a fishbowl with a standing boy looking upwards holding the thickened rim. The fish bowl has a continuous lotus scroll decoration in relief and the base is slightly recessed.
