Pair of Ordos gold horse bridle fittings, late Eastern Zhou dynasty, 3rd century BC. A pair of gold fittings from the Ordos region, south-western Inner Mongolia, of a bear shown frontally with prominent ruff, ears and claws, with a loop at reverse for attachment. The reverse shows a positive textile impression of the lost wax and textile of the casting method.
