Carved stone lion, China, 200-420 AD. Late Han to early Six Dynasties standard mount in the form of a stone lion strongly carved with typical prominent features: mane, ears accentuated, claws out toward knees, tail between the legs and over the back in which there is a square opening designed to hold a standard or flag.
