Jade lion dog, probably Kangxi period, early Qing dynasty, China, 1662-1722. A large and fine white jade lion dog with a few brown suffusions.Its large fat tail has four tight curls at its join to the body, all with fine lines. The paws have well defined detailed claws, the animal has a ridged back, its rib cage showing, its chest ridged, the legs with concave planes its head with bumps tucked in and turned towards the rear.
