Yellowish jade pig-dragon pendant, Neolithic, Hongshan culture, North China, c3500 BC-2200 BC. A jade pig dragon or 'embryo dragon' pendant of characteristic form. The curled dragon is carved almost through to form head and face and drilled for suspension and through from both sides. The jade is yellowish with brown suffusions.
