Jade fabulous animal pebble, Ming dynasty, China, 1368-1644. A jade pebble of a fabulous animal with long single horn holding a frond and a spay of lingzhi fungus. Its tail is divided into three well carved curls. There are prominent eyebrows which are thick at the rear and thin above the eyes. The claws are well outlined with double lines. The jade is of rather yellow colour with extensive brown flecked skin.
