Jade 'long Eliza' figure, late Ming-early Qing dynasty, China, 17th century. A pale celadon jade 'long Eliza' figure carrying what may be a hand warmer. Her clothes are elegantly draped and her hair is done up in a bun at the back of her head. 'Long Eliza' is the English translation of the Dutch name given to the type of willowy Chinese ladies that appeared in the decoration of many Chinese ceramics in the late Ming period
