Jade standing mythical animal, Song or early Yuan dynasty, China, 11th-13th century. A mythical animal with bifurcated horns, ears and trifurcated mane, and carefully incised tail. Its hocks have double line flaming accentuations, the head is rodent-like, slightly turned to the left and carved into distinct planes, and its claws are carefully drawn with double line accentuation.
