Set of three pottery figures holding zodiac symbols, Northern Song dynasty, China, 11th century. Three earthenware figures all with pendulant sleeves covering their hands, official type hats with wang character and tasselled belts. The figures hold in their open hands at their waist symbols of the Chinese zodiac; one a rat, one a dragon's head and one a monkey's head.
