Doucai bowl with floral scrolls, Qing dynasty, Qianlong period, China, 1736-1795. Imperial doucai bowl with plain interior. The exterior has a continuous leafy scroll and six flowers above a band of ruyi heads around the footrim. The base has a six character seal mark of Qianlong and the piece is of the period. 'Doucai' literally means 'fitted colours' and refers to a type of decoration outlined in blue under the glaze and coloured in over the glaze with enamels.
