Qingbai bowl, Song dynasty, Jiangxi province, China, late 11th-early 12th century. Wide-mouthed qingbai bowl with unglazed rim. The carved decoration consists of two mandarin ducks in a lotus pond. The lotus fronds are etched, the glaze a creamy white in emulation of a Ding glaze. There is some combing of the ground across the base and cavetto.
