Cloisonne plate with herons, Qing dynasty, China, 19th century. A large cloisonne plate decorated in the centre with herons in a pond with lotus beneath a wide plain red band with a narrow band of various coloured ruyi heads at the rim. The reverse is decorated with a wide band of butterflies in a continuous flower and leaf scroll on a pale blue ground.
