Canton enamel bowl, Jiaqing period, Qing dynasty, China, 1796-1820. A small Canton enamel bowl decorated in the interior with a central humped medallion with good luck symbol in red on a turquoise blue ground beneath a narrow band of dark blue red and gold stylized bats at the rim. The exterior has a narrow key fret band above a wide band of scrolling flowers in famille rose palette interspersed with four medallions with seal characters in gilt and royal blue above overlapping lappet band at the foot all on an imperial yellow ground. The base has a Jiaqing six character seal mark in blue enamel on white ground and the piece is of the period.
