Jade carp turning into dragon pebble, late Ming dynasty, China, 1550-1644. A large pale green and brown jade pebble in the form of a carp in the process of changing into a dragon issuing from multiple whirlpool waves leaping up around. There is also a kui dragon amid clouds near the head and a pearl in a shell amid the decoration.
