Scene depicting the attempt made by Margaret Nicholson to assassinate King George III at the entrance to St James's Palace, London, on August 2, 1786; showing the assassin approaching the King, holding a knife in her hand, Yeomen of the Guard rush forward. The King was unharmed and the woman was discovered to be insane and sent to Old Bethlehem Hospital.
